Pflugerville, Texas, Home to Dillon Panthers

For years football fans across the county shouted “TGIF” at the end of the week to watch their hometown Highs and the fictional Dillon Texas Panthers.  NBC’s Friday Night Lights began in 2006 and lasted five seasons.  Even though many of the cast members graduated, the stadium still exists.  In real-life Kuempel Stadium is home to Pflugerville’s Fighting Panthers.  It is about 15 minutes north of Austin, just a few miles off I-35.

You are welcome to park and snap a few pictures.  Unfortunately the gates are locked and you can’t get on the field or bleachers, but it is cool to see where Matt Saracen threw game winning touchdowns to Smash.
